Ashram Directors Swami Atmananda (Atmaji) and Swami Lalitananda (Kashi Amma) welcome you with great love and respect to the Kashi Nivas Shiva Meditation Ashram community. Grounded in the nondual Trika Shaivism philosophy of Kashmir, the ashram provides a spiritual environment in which seekers can be supported on their path to self-realization.

Kashi Nivas is open to the public and welcomes everyone with love regardless of race, religion, gender, orientation or philosophical leanings. Though The ashram belongs to a Hindu lineage you do not have to consider yourself a Hindu to attend. Everyone can take a course or come to the programs. Kashi Nivas serves three principal groups of people: the residents, the community of meditators and the general public.

The ashram is a casual and inviting community for the practice of yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, chanting, study groups, puja ceremonies, and other programs that support and sustain an uplifting spiritual lifestyle. Atmaji and Kashi Amma welcome you to experience the path of inner transformation that teaches seekers to live their lives with a high level of awareness, intelligence and compassion.

What is an ashram?
